“Fools Gold”(BITCH 008)
“Things Fall Apart” (BITCH 011)
“Super cover of Cristina original – crikey she was good hey? I played the original on the show this week. Riton’s mix is like a Chicken Strobe collaboration gone wrong…winner! Flaws mix is pretty tasty too – wonk and guitars and choir…proper! Original gets the vote with its Xmas reference and choir action – ACE! Keep ‘em coming Cosmo…”
- Reverend Milo, Kiss FM London
The quirky instrumental debut “Fools Gold” on was remixed by Justin Robertson and quickly garnered much hype. The single received Radio One airplay, DJ support from Erol at Trash, Chicken Lips, Headman and Glimmer Twins, was acclaimed by former Jockey Slut editor Rob Wood and featured on a Chicken Lips’ compilation. For their follow-up single, Stash opted for a cover of Ze artist Christina’s “Things Fall Apart” which has already appeared on the DMC Buzzchart. The original version possesses true crossover appeal and is aimed at the radio audience while Grand Central’s Riton and Bitches Brew’s own Flaws have reworked the track for the dancefloor.
Drummer Crispin J. Glover was One Caucasian Boy whose “Northern Lights” on Strictly Rhythm became an early house classic. Follow up singles ensued alongside other celebrated projects such as Crime on Junior Boys Own, Century Falls on MCA, Masterbuilders on Matrix, Stryker on Paper, Motif on Nuphonic and a solo album on One Little Indian. He has since locked away his house tools, re-associated himself with the drum kit and is now rocking hard.
Guitarist Nick Riggio and singer Rebecca Masiker cut their teeth in the Beastie Boy-lauded Maumee, Ohio punk scene. Their underground music and art collective Universe Crew was quickly recognized by On U Sound’s Adrian Sherwood after a gig with Audio Active. Sherwood signed the crew to his Green Tea label and brought Nick and Rebecca over to The Smoke where Nick performed session work for On U Sound artists and Rebecca designed artwork for their album covers. Nick is currently producing and playing guitar for the new album by Mark Stewart (of Pop Group fame).
